Prohibited Activity Prevention Protocols
Version 2026-09-05 · Last updated September 5, 2026
Pairvella maintains documented, enforced protocols to identify and prevent prohibited activity on the platform. This page summarises our controls against human and sex trafficking, illegal acts, impersonation, and child sexual abuse material.
1. Human or sex trafficking
Pairvella is an 18+ subscription dating service with no escort, advertising, or listing features. Commercial sexual services and paid-meeting solicitation are prohibited and blocked automatically at send time: the message is refused, never delivered, and recorded for staff review.
Attempts to move members to outside messaging apps, or to share phone numbers and emails early, are flagged to a moderation queue with the full text attached.
One account per person is required, verification needs both a confirmed email and phone, members are capped at three active conversations, and conversations expire after 48 hours of silence — all of which block high-volume recruitment. Every profile, photo and message is reportable in one tap.
Suspected trafficking is treated as severe: immediate suspension, permanent ban with all sessions revoked, records preserved, and referral to authorities where required by law.
2. Illegal acts
Our published Acceptable Use Policy prohibits sexual content involving minors, non-consensual imagery, violence, terrorism, hate speech, drugs, weapons, malware, romance fraud, harassment, doxxing, scraping and bot activity.
Enforcement is built into the platform: messages are screened before delivery and financial-solicitation language (crypto, investment schemes, wire transfers, gift cards, cash apps, requests for money) is blocked outright; additional photos are reviewed by a moderator before any other member can see them; every profile, photo and conversation is reportable; members can block anyone.
Enforcement escalates from content removal and warnings to recorded violations, messaging or visibility restrictions, suspension, and permanent ban with global session revocation. Members may appeal, and staff — not automation — make final decisions.
3. Impersonation
Profiles, photos and location must represent the real person. Verification requires confirming both an email address and a phone number by one-time code, and the badge is publicly described as a contact check, not an identity or background check.
One account per person; shared, sold or transferred accounts and post-ban returns are prohibited and enforced at the login layer.
Because impersonation relies on stolen images, every additional photo is held in an approval queue and checked by a moderator before publication; photos must show the member and must not carry contact details, watermarks, QR codes or advertising.
Stated age is validated at sign-up and on every change, staff corrections are written to an immutable audit log, dormant accounts are hidden after 14 days, and official platform messages are visually distinct so no member can impersonate our staff. Fake profiles can be reported in-app and are removed, restricted or banned.
4. Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Zero tolerance. Pairvella is strictly 18+: under-18 sign-up is refused, age is validated at sign-up and on every profile change, the platform runs a single adult-only pool, and any minor-to-adult interaction is disabled server-side across matching, the lounge and chat. Any account found to belong to someone under 18 is removed and its content deleted.
No image is ever published unreviewed — additional photos sit in a pending queue visible only to moderation staff, rejected images are never shown to anyone, and nudity or sexual content is prohibited outright so sexualised imagery is rejected regardless of apparent age. There is no public image feed or anonymous upload path; every image is tied to a contact-verified account.
Suspected CSAM bypasses the normal queue and escalates straight to an administrator: immediate suspension, content removed, permanent ban with all sessions revoked, records preserved, and reporting to the competent authorities and NCMEC.
Handling is limited to the minimum number of authorised staff and every action is written to an immutable audit log. Our published Law Enforcement Guidelines give investigators a documented contact route.
5. Profile verification during registration
Registration is 18+ only. Date of birth is collected and validated at sign-up; anyone under 18 is refused, and every later change to age is re-validated. Each new profile is tagged adult-only and the platform runs a single adult pool — cross-segment contact is disabled on the server.
Every new account must confirm two separate contact points before the profile is considered verified: a confirmed email address and a confirmed phone number, each validated by a one-time code. The verified badge reflects this contact check only; it is not an identity or background check and is described that way publicly.
Profiles display a display name, age, location, about-me, and relationship intention. Additional photos (up to five) are not published immediately — each is held in a pending queue and reviewed by a moderator before any other member can see it. Photos must show the member and must not carry contact details, watermarks, QR codes or advertising.
One account per person is required. Shared, sold or transferred accounts and returns after a ban are prohibited and blocked at the login layer. Staff can correct age, visibility or verification status, and every such action is written to an immutable audit log with the actor, target and reason.
6. Non-consensual involvement
Every interaction on Pairvella requires mutual, ongoing consent. Matching is mutual — both members must like each other before any conversation can exist — and either member can end the match, the conversation, or the connection at any time, instantly and without needing the other member's agreement. Members can block anyone in one tap; a blocked member cannot see, match with, or contact the blocker again.
Consent to one interaction is never treated as consent to another. Sexual messages or images sent to someone who has not invited them are prohibited; unsolicited explicit content is screened before delivery and flagged to staff, and sending it is a violation that escalates to suspension or a permanent ban.
No member can be involved in the platform without their own consent: one account per person, profiles and photos must represent the real account holder, accounts cannot be shared, sold or transferred, and every account is tied to a contact-verified email and phone number. A member can hide or fully delete their profile and its content at any time from their settings.
Non-consensual intimate imagery is zero-tolerance: hidden-camera, leaked or otherwise non-consensually-shared intimate images are prohibited, any reported image is removed immediately and never re-published, and the account responsible is suspended, banned and referred to authorities where required by law. Reports about non-consensual conduct are prioritised in the moderation queue, and every profile, photo and message can be reported in one tap. Our Dating Safety guide tells members how to withdraw consent, block and report, and our Law Enforcement Guidelines give investigators a documented contact route.
7. Takedown notices: reporting, review and appeals
Reporting: every profile, photo and individual message on Pairvella carries an in-app Report button, so any member can report policy-violating content in one tap without leaving the page. The report captures the exact item, the reporting member, a category and optional free-text detail, and is written straight into our moderation queue. Members can also block the other person at the same time. Anything not reportable in-app — including reports from people who are not members — can be sent to our published support and legal contact addresses on our Help & Support and Contact pages, and law-enforcement or urgent child-safety matters have a documented route on our Law Enforcement Guidelines page.
Review: reports land in a single moderation queue at our staff console, ordered by severity, and are reviewed by trained human moderators and administrators — automation only flags and prioritises, it never issues final decisions. Our target response times are within 24 hours for a standard report, within 4 hours for reports involving nudity, harassment, threats, scams or non-consensual imagery, and immediately for suspected child sexual abuse material, trafficking or a credible threat to life, which bypass the queue and escalate straight to an administrator. Photos are additionally reviewed before they are ever published, so image violations are usually caught before any other member sees them. On a substantiated report the reviewer can remove or reject the content, record a violation (minor, major or severe) against the account, restrict messaging or profile visibility for a fixed period or permanently, suspend the account pending further review, or permanently ban it with every session revoked. Members are notified of the outcome and of what was recorded against their account. Every staff action is written to an immutable audit log with the actor, the target, the action and the reason.
Appeals: any member whose content was removed, or who received a violation, restriction, suspension or ban, can appeal from Appeals in their account settings — banned members can also appeal by email to our published support address, since we retain a contact route after a ban. The appeal asks for a written statement and is placed in a separate appeals queue reviewed by an administrator who was not the original decision-maker. Our target is a decision within 7 days, and the account keeps its existing restriction while the appeal is pending. If the appeal succeeds, the removal or restriction is reversed, the violation is cleared from the account record and any visibility penalty is lifted. If it is denied, the member is told the outcome and the reason, the enforcement stands, and a permanent ban is final — repeat appeals on the same decision are closed unless the member provides genuinely new information. Appeal decisions are logged to the same immutable audit log.
