PAIRVELLA

Dating Safety Guide

Version 2026-08-30 · Last updated August 30, 2026

Pairvella cannot vouch for anyone you meet. These are the habits that keep online dating safe — please read them before your first date.

Before you meet

Keep conversation on Pairvella until you are comfortable. Someone who insists on moving to another app within minutes is often avoiding moderation.

Do a light check: a video call, or a reverse image search of their photos. Verified badges confirm a photo check only — they are not a background check.

Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to be back. You can save a safety contact in Settings → Safety and share your plan for a date from the Safe Date card.

Scam and fraud signals

Treat as a red flag: any request for money, gift cards, crypto, or 'investment help'; a story that escalates into an emergency; refusal to video call; a job or trading opportunity; a link to an unfamiliar site or wallet; or pressure to keep the relationship secret.

Never send money, share banking details, or install software at a match's request — no matter how long you have been talking. Report the profile instead.

Protect your personal data

Hold back your home address, workplace address, exact daily routine, financial details, and government ID numbers until trust is genuinely established. Check photo backgrounds for street signs, house numbers, or ID cards.

Use your Privacy settings to control how precisely your location is shown.

Planning the first date

Pick a public place at a normal hour, arrange your own transport there and back, and keep your phone charged. Watch your drink, and stay sober enough to make decisions.

You are never obliged to stay. If something feels wrong, leave — you do not owe anyone an explanation. If you feel unsafe, ask staff at the venue for help or call local emergency services.

Consent

Consent is specific, ongoing, and can be withdrawn at any moment. Silence or hesitation is not consent. Pressuring anyone — for photos, for a meeting, or for physical contact — is grounds for permanent removal from Pairvella.

If something goes wrong

Block and report the member from their profile or your conversation. Keep screenshots. Reports are confidential and reviewed by our moderation and support staff.

For crimes, threats, or immediate danger, contact local law enforcement or emergency services first — then report to us so we can remove the account.

This guide is general safety information, not professional, legal, or medical advice. In an emergency always contact local emergency services.
