Acceptable Use Policy

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to everyone who accesses Pairvella — the website, member accounts, chats, the lounge, profile content, and any API or automated access. It forms part of the Terms and Conditions and works alongside the Community Guidelines.

If your conduct breaks this policy, we may act on your account whether or not the conduct happened inside a Pairvella conversation.

2. Eligibility and account integrity

Pairvella is strictly 18+. You must not create an account for anyone under 18, misstate your age or identity, hold more than one account, share your login, sell or transfer an account, or return after a permanent ban.

Profile details, photos, and location must represent the real person using the account.

3. Prohibited content

Do not upload, send, or link to: any sexual content involving minors or anyone who appears to be a minor; non-consensual, hidden-camera, or leaked intimate imagery; graphic violence or gore; content that promotes terrorism, mass violence, or self-harm; hate speech targeting protected characteristics; illegal drugs, weapons, or stolen goods; or malware and phishing links.

Do not post another person's private information — home address, workplace, phone number, financial details, medical details, or immigration status — without their consent.

Photos must show you, must not contain nudity or sexual acts, and must not include contact details, watermarks, QR codes, or advertising.

4. Human trafficking, sex trafficking and exploitation — expressly prohibited

Human trafficking and sex trafficking in every form are expressly prohibited on Pairvella. You must not use Pairvella to engage in, attempt, arrange, advertise, promote, solicit, finance, or otherwise participate in human trafficking or sex trafficking.

Trafficking recruitment is expressly prohibited. You must not recruit, lure, groom, court, entice, or attempt to recruit any person — member or non-member, adult or minor — for commercial sexual activity, sex work, escorting, pornography, forced labour, servitude, debt bondage, organ removal, forced marriage, or any other form of exploitation, whether or not payment is offered and whether or not the person appears to consent.

Trafficking facilitation is expressly prohibited. You must not assist, enable, coordinate, transport, harbour, host, shelter, advertise for, refer members to, collect or transmit payment for, provide travel, visas, documents, accommodation or introductions for, or in any way make easier the trafficking or exploitation of another person. You must not act on behalf of a third party who is soliciting, managing, or profiting from another person, and you must not operate an account for or under the direction of such a person.

Also expressly prohibited: any sexual exploitation of a minor, including child sexual abuse material, sexualised depictions of minors, and any attempt to contact, groom, or arrange a meeting with a minor; commercial sexual services, prostitution, escorting, paid companionship, sugar-dating arrangements involving payment or allowance for sexual or romantic access, and any offer or request for money, gifts, cards, cryptocurrency, or other value in exchange for sexual or intimate activity; coerced, deceived, or non-consensual involvement of any person, including using threats, debt, drugs, immigration status, or the withholding of documents to control someone; and any language, code word, price list, availability schedule, or third-party contact intended to advance any of the above.

Pairvella has no escort, advertising, listing, or paid-meeting features and does not permit them to be simulated through profiles, photos, or messages. Trafficking-related content is treated as severe: the account is suspended immediately, content is removed, the account is permanently banned with all sessions revoked, records are preserved, and the matter is referred to law enforcement and, where a minor may be involved, to NCMEC and the competent authorities. We report suspected trafficking regardless of whether a member has complained.

If you believe you or someone else is being trafficked or exploited, contact local emergency services, and report the account to us in-app or through Help & Support so we can act and preserve evidence.

5. Sexual violence and non-consensual sexual conduct — expressly prohibited

Sexual violence is a standalone prohibited category on Pairvella. Sexual violence means any sexual act, attempted sexual act, sexual contact, or sexual conduct directed at a person without that person's freely given consent, or obtained through force, threat, coercion, intimidation, deception, abuse of authority, incapacity, or the inability to consent.

You must not use Pairvella to commit, attempt, plan, arrange, solicit, threaten, promote, glorify, normalise, or boast about sexual violence. This expressly includes rape and attempted rape, sexual assault and unwanted sexual touching, drug- or alcohol-facilitated sexual assault, sexual acts with a person who is unconscious, asleep, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to consent, sexual coercion and sextortion, blackmail for sexual acts or images, stealthing and other deception about protected sex, incest, bestiality, and any sexual conduct involving a minor.

Also prohibited: sending unsolicited sexual images or explicit messages; creating, sharing, or threatening to share intimate images of another person without their consent, including leaked, hidden-camera, or AI-generated or edited sexual imagery of a real person; recording or distributing sexual activity without consent; and any content that depicts, endorses, or instructs sexual violence.

Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and current. It can be withdrawn at any time, it never transfers from one interaction, conversation, person, or platform to another, and matching, messaging, meeting, paying, or a prior relationship is never consent to anything sexual.

Reports of sexual violence are prioritised and reviewed by human staff. Confirmed cases result in immediate suspension, content removal, permanent ban with sessions revoked, preservation of records, and — where required or where there is a risk to life or a minor is involved — referral to law enforcement and the competent authorities.

6. Prohibited conduct toward members

No harassment, threats, stalking, intimidation, or repeated contact after someone stops replying or blocks you. No sexual messages or images sent to someone who has not invited them. No discriminatory abuse, doxxing, outing, or coordinated pile-ons.

No romance fraud or financial exploitation: do not solicit money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, investment participation, loans, or emergency funds, and do not move members off-platform in order to do so.

No commercial use: no advertising, recruiting, escort or sex work solicitation, multi-level marketing, fundraising, or driving traffic to paid content or other platforms.

7. Messaging and subscriptions

Pairvella provides matchmaking, member-created profiles, browsing and mutual matching, and online direct messaging between members. Messaging is one-to-one text chat between two members who have mutually matched; there is no public feed, no anonymous messaging, and no ability to message someone who has not matched with you or who has blocked you.

Messaging is included in membership and is subscription-based only. Pairvella does not sell credits, coins, tokens, message bundles, per-message charges, tips, gifts, or any other pay-per-use or consumable currency, and messages cannot be purchased individually or unlocked by payment. Paid tiers change subscription features and limits only.

Messages are screened automatically at send time for prohibited solicitation and spam patterns, and every message can be reported in one tap. Members may end a match or block another member at any time, which permanently stops contact.

8. Platform and security abuse

Do not scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or resell profiles, photos, or messages. Do not use bots, scripted sign-ups, automated messaging, or artificially inflate matches, likes, responsiveness metrics, or referral counts.

Do not probe, scan, or test the security of Pairvella; bypass rate limits, moderation, age checks, country availability, or paywalls; reverse engineer the service; or interfere with other members' use of it.

Do not abuse memberships, promotional passes, referral rewards, or refunds — including self-referrals, fake accounts, chargeback abuse, or reselling promotional codes.

9. Off-platform meetings

Meeting other members is at your own risk. Pairvella does not run criminal background checks, and verification badges confirm a photo or contact check only. Read the Dating Safety guide before meeting anyone in person, and report anything that felt unsafe.

10. Reporting

Every profile and conversation has a report option, and Help & Support accepts reports about anything you cannot report in-app. Reports are reviewed by moderation staff; deliberately false or retaliatory reporting is itself a violation.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report to us.

11. How we identify and detect violations

Member reports. Every profile, photo, and conversation can be reported in-app, and Help & Support accepts reports for anything else. Reports enter a moderation queue with the reported content attached.

Automated message screening. Messages are scanned as they are sent for known scam and off-platform solicitation patterns (for example crypto, investment, money-transfer and messaging-app redirection language), for commercial sexual and paid-meeting solicitation, and for burst spam — the same text sent to several members in a short window. Matches are flagged for staff review and mark the sending account for closer attention.

Photo review before publication. Additional profile photos are held in an approval queue and are checked by moderators or administrators before they appear to other members. Rejected photos never become visible.

Identity and age controls. Pairvella is 18+ only: stated age is validated at sign-up and on profile changes, accounts are held in an adult-only pool, and verification checks (phone or email) confirm a reachable contact point. Country availability rules restrict access where we do not operate.

Behavioural and engagement signals. We measure response behaviour, unanswered active conversations, and unusual activity rates, and we track referral and promotional-code usage to detect self-referrals, duplicate accounts, and reward abuse.

Account and audit review. Staff can review an account's messages, photos, matches, violation record, restrictions, and prior appeals, and every staff action is written to an immutable audit log. Anomaly reports surface accounts with clustered risk signals for proactive review.

Payment and subscription integrity. Subscription and payment events are reconciled against provider records so that chargeback abuse, promotional-pass abuse, and reselling of codes can be identified.

Detection systems assist human judgement; they do not replace it. Consequential decisions are reviewed by staff, and we retain the records needed to investigate reports and respond to lawful requests.

12. Enforcement

Depending on severity and history we may: remove content, reject photos, issue a warning, record a violation against the account, limit visibility or messaging, suspend the account, or permanently ban it. Severe cases — especially anything involving minors, trafficking, credible threats, or fraud — result in immediate removal and, where required by law, referral to authorities.

Automated systems flag suspected abuse; staff review consequential decisions. You can appeal a violation or restriction from your account settings, and a staff member will review the appeal.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform and legal requirements change. Material changes are announced in the app, and continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated version.
